Max Akin, a quarterback at Keller Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Worth, Texas, offered his crown to his friend after being named homecoming king.

What he did at halftime was even more impressive.

“I gave him a big hug and I said I love you buddy, got on my knees and bestowed the crown upon him – like in a knight movie”, Akin told InsideEdition.com.

‘I didn’t know when I would have the right time to do it, ‘ Akin told WFAA. Students from the school immediately posted photos of Akin giving Norwood the crown, and during an interview with local TV station WFAA, Akin explained why he did it.

The quarterback was awarded the crown.

The story has received thousands of likes on social media in the area. “They love each other, and that’s why we’re successful”.

“I think it should’ve gone to the person who positively uplifts the school and everybody around him”, Akin said, “and that person is K.L., for sure”.

“It was absolutely terrific”, he said. No matter how this season ends, this moment will last a lifetime.

“I appreciate it”, Norwood said of his friend’s gesture.

At halftime, it was announced that Akin had won the coveted title of homecoming king.
