Once deputies arrived, the homeless man led them to the body, which has not been identified.
A homeless man brought a human skull into a grocery store in Sebastian, Florida and started using it as a puppet, according to local outlets. “It smelled like death”.
The man came across a maintenance worker and this is who he asked to notify police that in the woods across the street there is a human skeleton, and he had the skull.
The show-and-tell more than got people’s attention with law enforcement called to the scene rather quickly.
A man walked into a shopping center with a skull in his hand, which isn’t a sight often seen, unless you are at a Grateful Dead concert.
Raulen said “the body was deteriorated for so long that the skull was simply sitting there with the rest of the bones”.
The skull was found in an area where homeless people frequent, but not in any of the homeless camps in the area.
The deputies found the remains, which appeared to have been disturbed by animals. The identity of the victim, however, still remains a mystery. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office says the small homeless population living in the woods have attempted to help police officers.

Investigators weren’t immediately able to confirm the identity or how the person died. In regard to the human skull, Publix corporate has yet to add anything official to the account.
