A staff member at a local cafe in the area told TheJournal.ie that employees were used to homeless individuals sleeping in the area.
Gardai were contacted and emergency services attended the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
“The body of a man was found this morning on Dawson Lane”.
“An Garda Siochana cannot yet comment on whether the man was homeless or not”. “The man was in his mid-30s and suffered a sudden death”, said a spokesman. They were told by gardaí this morning that the deceased was likely homeless.
It is understood the man had been dead for a number of hours before his body was discovered. Mr Corrie’s death focussed attention on rising homelessness in the capital.
The CEO of the Peter McVerry Trust, Pat Doyle, said he was known to charity workers since December.
“This tragic incident once again demonstrates the vulnerability of people who are experiencing homelessness and all agencies must redouble their efforts to tackle the issue head on” he said.

“The scale of the problem is unprecedented and the situation is worse than December 2014, where rough sleeping figures were the highest since counts began”, the organisation said.
