Eunie Smith, first vice president of the Eagle Forum, a conservative group Schlafly founded in 1972, said in a statement: “America has lost a great stateswoman, and we at Eagle Forum and among the conservative movement have lost a beloved friend and mentor”.

Phyllis Schlafly passed away today at the age of 92 and today leading pro-life advocates are remembering the pro-life champion.

They also pointed out that the money of her wealthy husband, an member of a rich IL family, gave her uncommon freedom to be a “housewife” and yet active in the public sphere. It was reciprocated. In March of this year, she endorsed Donald Trump while introducing him to a huge crowd at a rally in her hometown of St. Louis.
