Honda said that it would replace driver side air bag inflaters from these vehicles, as it found density problems with propellant pellets inside inflaters, which could lead to explosions.

Even for owners who have been made aware of recalls, the huge number of vehicles involved has created long waiting times.
The staggering numbers mean it will take several years for Takata and other air bag makers to produce enough inflators to finish the recalls, leaving potentially unsafe Takata inflators on the road.
Takata has said it expects to return to profit in its current financial year but analysts have warned it has made few provisions for possible extra costs associated with the airbag issues, which date back as far as 2008.
Before the announcement on Thursday, the company has already recalled over 20 million cars over the past seven years due to air bags manufactured by Takata.
What’s worse for Takata, apart from their reputation, is that Honda’s new CEO, Takahiro Hachigo, said that his company will not be helping Takata to pay for the recalls.
The driver’s left cheek was lightly burned though it was unclear if the injury was caused by the inflator exploding, the spokesman said. While the same type of inflator is use in vehicles produced after 2012, those were not recalled as investigations didn’t find evidence of danger, Honda said. In the latest report from the automotive industry, Honda has just issued another whopping recall.
Shares in Nissan closed 6.6 percent lower on Wednesday, compared with a 3.4 percent fall in the broader market. The carmaker has a 1.2 per cent ownership stake in the supplier.
At least eight deaths have been linked to side air bag inflators which can explode, sending shrapnel into cars. The latest recall was announced early on Thursday morning.
Of the recalled cars, Japan alone accounts for 1.63 million vehicles.
