Honda is the latest automaker to show off a production implementation.

The auto company opened a new research and development facility in Mountain View Thursday, the company’s largest such facility outside of its headquarters in Japan.

The adoption of both Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay doesn’t look to be slowing down with Honda announcing that the 2016 Accord will be the first Honda model to include both in-car systems.

The refreshed Accord sports a redesigned exterior that Honda says is sportier and “more sophisticated” with a new aluminum hood and 19-inch wheels. The vehicle will be available in the same four- and six-cylinder engine variations as the 2015 Accord. One of those launch partners was Honda and despite the manufacturer having promised to support the platform from the beginning, it has yet to release any vehicle model with support for Android Auto.

Android Auto™ was designed to give drivers a simple, intuitive way through touch and voice to minimize the potential for distraction so the driver can stay focused on the road.

Technology is transforming the auto industry, said Frank Paluch, the president of Honda R&D Americas. The upper screen displays the system’s audio settings, directions, information on time and trip, LaneWatch, Rearview Camera displays, SMS text messages (stopped), incoming calls, and parking alerts. SiriusXM satellite radio and Homelink remote, previously on EX-L and Touring, are now standard on EX and above trims.
