Honda unveils new Civic hatch
Honda sells its Civic by the bucketload, so anticipation is high for this, the all-new 2017 Civic Hatchback due to arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall.

After seeing the prototype earlier this year, we get official images of the upcoming, 2017 Honda Civic hatchback.
“Now, we’re bringing this sporty, stylish and versatile Civic Hatchback to North America, as we amp up the performance of our incredible Civic lineup with each new Civic model”, Conrad said. The new Civic joins sedan and coupe models and will precede the Type-R – which Honda has confirmed will also be a hatchback when it goes on sale in 2017.
After a few spy shots were leaked on the internet, Honda chose to release pictures and information on the 2017 Civic Hatchback.
The Wiltshire factory is the global production hub for the tenth generation Honda Civic, including U.S. spec models, having undergone a £200 million investment by the manufacturer.
Yet, Honda still manages to sell the Civic at a high clip, better than any other in compact sedan segment and better than every sedan that isn’t the Toyota Camry (which it trails by a slim margin). Sadly, Honda made us wait a full model year before releasing the hatchback variant, but now we have all the major deals on the more cargo-friendly Civic.
All Civic Hatchbacks will be built at Honda’s plant in Swindon in the United Kingdom.
Honda showed off the Civic Hatchback, the latest addition to its 10 generation Civic models, on Monday. Customers will have five trims to choose from.
Based on the same new platform as the sedan, Honda claims the new Civic hatch will be lighter and more rigid than before. It will also come in either six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions, becoming the first Civic model to offer the turbo engine with a manual. The hatchback comes with a notably sleek roofline as well as Honda’s new corporate grille.
“In the small auto segment in Australia, hatches reign so we expect the Honda Civic Hatch to be a relevant option for Honda customers looking for the versatility of a hatch but with the proven quality, style and performance of a Honda”.

The model has also been absent from the US lineup.
