Honor 5C first look – premium design on a budget
The Chinese variant of the Honor 5C comes with a fingerprint sensor, but you will not find that feature on the European edition, unfortunately. Based on the set of specifications and features, the Honor 5C will be facing competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 2, and Lenovo ZUK Z1 to name a few. Similarly, the 5.2-inch display may be large, but its IPS LCD panel runs at Full HD resolution rather than the 4K we’re coming to expect from flagship phones.

The Honor 5C has been out since April when it made its debut in China.
After laying the groundwork for a new Huawei smartphone, with teasers and cryptic clues, the Honor UK Facebook has just had its Virtual Launch event and video presentation revealing the product to be the powerful and stylish Honor 5C. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of the Honor 5C, and the device ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 (EMUI 4.1) on top of it. As expected, the company today formally announced its plans of bringing the affordable Honor 5C to Europe.
The Honor 5C sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. A 3000mAh battery will hopefully keep you going all day while the Honor 5C also boasts support for dual SIM cards. The device measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3mm, while it weighs 156 grams. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, Global Positioning System with GLONASS, FM Radio, and 4G LTE network support.
With the Moto G4 raising the bar for budget smartphones again, it will be looking nervously over its shoulder as Honor is also leaping high.

The Honor 5C will be available from 20 June through Honor’s usual online retail outlets, with vmall.eu, Honor and Huawei’s e-store being the first port of call.
