Hope Solo brushing off ‘Zika’ chants by Olympic fans
The Rio Olympics 2016 are already off to an exciting start, with the USA women’s soccer team pulling in their first win against New Zealand!

The goalkeeper should certainly have a busier time against France than in the 2-0 win against New Zealand. There is enough concern about Zika to make the Centers for Disease Control issue travel warnings and for President Obama to ask for $1.9 billion in funding for whatever ramifications the USA faces.
Hope Solo may be the least popular soccer player in Brazil right now. The chants aren’t going away any time soon, but Solo said she can deal with that. The Brazilian fans in attendance apparently took offense to her media and let her hear about it constantly during the opening match.
“I did know they were booing, but it doesn’t affect me”, Solo said.
The photos have attracted nearly 13,000 comments – many of them abusive posts from unhappy Brazilians. “So what goes on around me in the stadium, honestly it doesn’t matter”, she said. The comment came after indicating, at the beginning, that she might cancel the trip to Brazil over worries about the mosquito-borne Zika virus, reported the Washington Post.

It’s something to be aware of and I’m taking every precaution necessary.
Hope Solo was greeted rudely at the Rio Olympics, but she doesn’t really care.
Solo was outspoken in expressing her concerns over Zika.
The modest crowd in Belo Horizonte seemed to find its greatest enjoyment in taunting Hope Solo, the United States goalkeeper, with boos and apparent chants of “Zika!” when she had the ball.

The 35-year-old World Cup victor and two-time Olympic gold medalist said she was not bothered by the crowd noise in Belo Horizonte’s Estadio Mineirao and gave a calm explanation of her thoughts on the matter ahead of Saturday’s Group G clash with France.
