Horizon: Zero Dawn Release Date Announced

Rather than focus on gameplay, which we’re still hoping to see next week, our latest glimpse at Horizon Zero Dawn focuses on the journey of the game’s protagonist, Aloy. We’re not sure why the world of Horizon Zero Dawn is full of such creatures, or how exactly man-made monuments resembling a decayed representation of the planet Earth remain intact.

Though no release date had ever been officially confirmed, the Killzone developer said it wanted to release the game during the fall of this year.

Game delays are inevitable and more often than not, make for a better final product. The new release date gives the studio additional time it needs to fully deliver on its ambitious vision of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Horizon Zero Dawn is now slated for release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2017.

While certainly bad news, the announcement did have a few positives.

Both games will be playable at E3 next week, and those who backed Yooka-Laylee for more than £20 on Kickstarter will get a playable demo in July.

Anywho… Sony and Guerilla Games must have realized that 2016 seemed unreasonable for such a large game, so they have officially pushed Horizon: Zero Dawn for the PS4 back to 2017.

Horizon Zero Dawn is set in a lush open world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization.

Second, Guerrilla Games announced it will be more transparent with developments going forward, promising to share more details and videos in the future. In order to overcome a much larger and technologically superior enemy, Aloy must use every ounce of her knowledge, intelligence, and agility to survive each encounter.
