Horsey increases lead in Denmark

Despite the Englishman bouncing back with a gain at the 13th, Pilkadaris rattled in three straight birdies from the 12th to move within two of the lead, with Horsey seeing that cut to one at the last after driving in to the tree and missing his lengthy putt to save par.

The Danish golfer was playing in the Made in Denmark tournament and managed to pull off a very impressive birdie on a par three, but it was what he did next that brought him to tears.

Horsey went to 11 under when he picked up shots on the fourth and an eagle on the sixth but he did drop a shot between that on the fifth hole.

Further down the leaderboard, Scotland’s former Open champion Paul Lawrie was on five under with European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke three under.

“It’s always fabulous to get off to a start like that”, Horsey said after his round. I wouldn’t say it affected me too much but I three-putted, then made a mess of the next hole.

Tour rookie Farr recovered to shoot 64 after bogeying the 10th, his first. “I had a little spell where it got hot”.

“I know she might think I’m a bit silly but it’s going to be a great memory for us as we grow older”, added Harto who has yet to record a win on the tour.

The 30-year-old, chasing a fourth European Tour title, had stretched his lead to seven at one stage before the chasing pack closed in. “I’ve been playing nicely recently and I’ve certainly been putting better for about a month now”.
