Hospitals in Kashmir overwhelmed after days of violence
Doctors and government officials said they were struggling with a medical emergency after hundreds of civilians were admitted to hospitals with bullet and pellet wounds.

As news of his death spread, spontaneous protests erupted and crowds of angry youths gathered to throw rocks at Indian police and paramilitary soldiers. “Over 250 injured people were treated at two Srinagar hospitals – SKIMS Soura and SMHS Hospital – in the last three days”, they said, adding that about 1,250 were treated in different district and sub-district hospitals.
Once the security forces are withdrawn, the protestors again put the blockades on the roads mostly in the non-curfew areas.
