Let’s hope their luck continues with Hossa and other members of the Blackhawks playing in the World Cup of Hockey. According to the Journal de Montreal, the injury was serious enough to send Hossa to a local hospital for X-rays.
Winger Marian Hossa was hurt in an World Cup exhibition game in Quebec City on Thursday night, according to multiple reports.
Follow-up reports indicated the injury is not considered serious.
Friday morning ESPN reported that forward Marcus Kruger missed practice and will not participate in Team Sweden’s second exhibition game vs. Finland on Saturday due to an upper-body injury.
The World Cup of Hockey is returning from a 12-year hiatus, with games beginning September 17.
Once the regular season starts, Hossa will need just one more goal to reach 500 for his career.

The Blackhawks also know that coach Joel Quenneville will lean more heavily on guys like Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Hossa this season because of so many younger players on the roster.
