Host Steve Harvey Crowns Wrong Miss Universe
“The first runner-up is Colombia”, Harvey said.

After the aforementioned slip, Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega removed the crown from the Colombian beauty queen Gutierrez on stage and it was transferred to Wurtzbach to officially crown the Stuttgart-native as Miss Universe 2015. During the live broadcast Harvey incorrectly announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez had won the crown and even allowed her to begin celebrating, before correcting his mistake.
He also tweeted an apology to the viewers, who for the first time weighed in on the contest, casting their votes to be tallied along with those of the four celebrity judges.
In an official statement, Miss Universe pageant officials apologised to both finalists.
Ms Wurtzbach later told reporters she wished Miss Colombia the best. “Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines”.
India last won the Miss Universe title in 2000.
It was a human error but as of the moment, Steve Harvey is the most hated man in Colombia.
Ariadna Arevalo, representative of Colombia at the 64th edition of Miss Universe pageant, was mistakenly crowned the victor of the competition instead of Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of Philippines.
While he has spent years having to listen to people say the most ridiculous things on ” Family Feud”, the biggest fail of the year, ironically, came from Steve Harvey himself when he apparently forgot how to read on last night’s Miss Universe.
It was the first edition of the annual beauty show since it was thrust into controversy when then co-owner and U.S. presidential candidate, Donald Trump, made disparaging remarks about immigrants. “We are very proud!”
Gabriela asked Wurtzbach to examine the “brutal killing of Jennifer Laude and other criminal abuses of USA military in the Philippines and other countries and be a powerful voice to seek justice for the victims”.
The pageant’s contestant from the United States, Olivia Jordan, was named second runner-up. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
