Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies Are Here: This Is Not a Drill!
The delicacy once reserved as a once-a-year treat during state fairs (and cardiologists were thankful for that) are coming to Walmart.

Hostess Brands, maker of the original 1930s treat, just released the packaged frozen product as part of a collaboration with Wal-Mart’s food lab, an initiative that fast tracks “innovative products” to customers. These Twinkies are battered and only partially fried before being frozen.
It’s the first time Hostess has delved into frozen foods.
You won’t have to go to a summer carnival or a state fair to get your deep-fried Twinkies anymore.
Deep-Fried Twinkies are available exclusively at Wal-Mart for the next three months, but will be rolled out to other stores after that.
This Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, photo, shows boxes of Twinkies in the freezer of Associated Press reporter Anne D’Innocenzio in NY.
According to the Associated Press, the “Deep Fried Twinkies” are made from regular Twinkies, coating them with a cake funnel batter and an oil bath. The Twinkies can be baked for six to eight minutes in the oven at 350 degrees or deep-fried for two-and-a-half to three minutes. They also have a retro health factor, with approximately double the fat and calories of a normal Twinkie. A regular Twinkie has 130 calories, four grams of fat and 14 grams of sugar.

The new frozen item will set you back $4.76 for a box of seven, and each will add 220 calories to daily intake.
