Hosts of ‘The View’ face backlash over comments about nurses
Nationally, the American Nurses Association released a statement saying they’re pleased with the apology. Dressed in scrubs, Johnson explained how her talent is nursing and how she had encountered one patient, Joe, who was very special to her. “

I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about.”
Michelle Collins said, “I was not talking about her as a nurse”. Also posted on The View’s FB page.
For the past 13 years, nurses have held the top spot as the public’s most honest and ethical profession in America in an annual Gallup poll, and with good reason.
“You guys are wonderful”. After the episode aired, many tweeted to “The View” on how they were offended by their commentary regarding nurses.
Now the women of “The View” are responding to the criticism.
On Wednesday, in an effort to resuscitate themselves, Collins said on Wednesday’s show, “We love nurses”. You owe all of the nurses of this world an apology.
“It’s very comforting to know that there’s someone standing up for nurses”, said Jean Ross, co-president of National Nurses United, the largest union of working nurses in the country.
“It was a proud moment for all of us because nursing is kind of a secret profession, in that most people, meaning the general public, don’t know what nurses do”, Buxton said.
Collins tried to say the hosts weren’t talking about Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson as a nurse. But when Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson visited “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week, she revealed that “a lot of people” told her not to perform the monologue for the talent portion of the competition.
“I was not paying attention”, she said. “And if I’m ever going to win Miss America or win Miss Colorado, I want to do it being myself.’ And I’m a nurse!” “I’m used to seeing them (contestants) in gowns and bathing suits”. “Not only is she kind, not only is she intelligent, not only is her entire platform speaking tolerance and equality for all and kindness, but she’s able to be amusing without insulting someone and I think that is an incredible feat”.
Behar called herself “stupid and inattentive”.
Nurses everywhere are posting photos with their stethoscopes to show how upset they are.

“By the way, if your bosses are watching, you all deserve raises”, Collins added.
