Hot 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo is Unveiled in Miami
Nissan has officially debuted its new 2017 Sentra SR Turbo at the annual Miami International Auto Show. The new Turbo is powered by the Juke’s 1.6-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces a robust 188 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm-64 more horsepower and 52 lb-ft more torque than the 1.8-liter powerplant in the non-turbo 2017 Sentra SR.

Sentra is Nissan’s third best selling vehicle in the United States with sales up 11.2 percent this year (through August). The SR Turbo also benefits from revisions to the electrically assisted power steering that are created to provide better feel on the highway, and both transmissions have been tweaked for SR Turbo duty. The 2017 SR Turbo will be remembered by a few people who added an extra $20/mo to their payment to get a turbo in their Sentra.
Key features of the 2016 Sentra exterior are a new front fascia, grille, fenders, hood and signature boomerang-shaped headlights. The result is improved acceleration from standing starts and highway passing, improved handling and enhanced ride comfort. “It’s truly the complete package for compact auto buyers and enthusiasts alike”. The 2017 SR Turbo model should provide a decent value if you want a little more punch in your affordable commuter sedan.
Dressing things up are unique sill extensions, a rear spoiler with an integrated CHMSL – that is, a center high-mounted stop lamp – and unique 17-inch wheels with all-season tires. And like all Sentra SV, SR and SL trims, the SR Turbo gets a 5.0-inch Advanced Drive-Assist display in the center of the gauge cluster, as well as standard Siri Eyes Free voice-command capability. Sporty Sentras have always been popular, and so the CVT has been specially altered to suit the sport-subcompact SR Turbo.
The front brakes are also larger to make sure the SR Turbo performs well in everything from stopping to accelerating and cornering. The SR Turbo Premium Package, the only option package available with the SR Turbo, includes Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), leather-appointed seating and Bose Premium audio system with eight speakers.
