House Votes To Cut Planned Parenthood Funding
“We all share a common goal: to reduce the number of abortions in this country to zero, which makes us all pro-life”, he said.

It passed by a vote of 241-187.
Some conservatives in Boehner’s party said Friday’s votes weren’t enough to bring them on board, particularly because President Barack Obama has said he would veto both abortion measures if they reached his desk.
“As a pro-life member of Congress and someone who strongly believes in good, responsible government, I am proud to support legislation that protects the rights of the unborn and increases funding to women’s health services at Community Health Centers across our state“, Hill said.
Planned Parenthood receives about $450 annually in federal funding, but nearly no federal funding is used for abortions.
Representative Bradley Byrne says Planned Parenthood doesn’t deserve any federal funding. The vote is largely symbolic, as Democrats are expected to block the bill in the Senate. Hillary Clinton, who has recently rushed to the defense of the embroiled women’s health organization, tweeted that “The House voting to defund Planned Parenthood is an attack on women’s health–nothing more, nothing less”.
Last month, Gov. Asa Hutchinson ordered the cancellation of Arkansas’ contract with Planned Parenthood of the Heartland in response to the undercover videos.
“Planned Parenthood can get their money back if they fully commit to what they talk about, women’s healthcare, and stop performing abortions for this year”, said Rep. Diane Black.
That would force the Senate to consider it and Obama to choose between signing a bill with the defunding language or shutting down the government, Fleming said.
“The sands of time should blow over the Capitol dome before we give one more dime of taxpayer dollars to an organization that is the principle promoter of the greatest genocide in America’s history”, Franks said after the Planned Parenthood vote.
The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would establish criminal penalties on medical personnel who do not aid an infant born alive after an attempted abortion.
The GOP-led House first approved a bill that bars taxpayer money for the women’s health organization for a year while Congress conducts investigations. “But defunding Planned Parenthood won’t accomplish that goal”.
Health-care providers and others are required to report any violations to law enforcement.

That has frustrated some Republican moderates who warn that pushing another bitter shutdown fight, like the one that closed the government for 16 days in 2013, could only hurt Republican chances in the 2016 presidential election.
