Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department believe a mother stabbed her two-month-old son to death in southeast Houston.

Crews responding to a call about a fire at the apartment made the grisly discovery.
Houston police were dispatched around midnight Monday to meet with firefighters at the apartment complex.
“Upon their arrival they found a deceased 1-year-old”, said HPD homicide detective Ronda Pemberton.
“She was a sweet baby”, said Gina Dennis, the child’s grandmother.
Stark said two other children and another adult in the home, the mother’s sister, were present but not hurt.

There’s no word yet on if either will face charges. The other three children at the home were also taken from the home. There is no word on their ages. abc13 reporter Steve Campion is on scene and will bring you the latest on Eyewitness News this Morning starting at 4:30 AM.
