A beloved Houston mom just shy of her 20th birthday who was repeatedly threatened on social media was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday. Those shots went into Childs’ unit, striking her. Childs was the mother of a 2-year-old girl.

Holbrook said the woman’s boyfriend came home and found her body.

Police believe Childs was the target of the shooting and that she was alone in the apartment while her boyfriend was at work.

The hashtag #RIPKendra began to trend nearly immediately after her death, and social media users speculated that she was killed by a jealous rival.

On Twitter, the #ripkendra hashtag has been growing in engagement over the past day.

“Nothing makes me mad about a b***h saying she was with my n***a or whatever cause like I tell him… the h** won’t be around too long”. Police said that they later found a black Camaro, but they did not say if it was the one linked to the shooting.

Two months ago, that same Twitter user wrote, “My plan is to plot for a year… [I don’t give a f**k] if the [police] see this”.

“I think I’m really evil enough to eat a mf alive!”

Family members said Kendra Childs was a loving and dedicated mother. I’ll real life kill you and eat you [expletive]! I understand it was her time, but she didn’t have to go like this. And I’m gone kill them people.

A mysterious auto was at the scene: Witnesses told police that a black Camaro with tinted windows was seen driving by the apartment and firing multiple rounds, according to Houston Police Department homicide unit spokesman Mark Holdbrook.

Then the day before the incident: “Praying everything goes good tmrw but I just know it will”. “She didn’t even make it to her birthday tomorrow”, Angel Whitaker, Childs’s cousin told KTRK-TV. “Whoever did this, they were wrong and we will get justice for her”.
