Houston Rockets Fire Kevin McHale

The four-game losing streak was the team’s longest since 2013 and eventually resulted in a players’ meeting only held Tuesday at the Toyota Center.

McHale was in his fifth year coaching Houston, but the recent struggles the team was having led to his sacking.

“There is no time in the West”.

The 100kg guard fired in 45 points, including all nine of Houston’s in overtime on Wednesday with the Rockets rallying for a thrilling 108-103 victory over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers. They’ve been playing well as of late but, as we’ve seen so far this season, the middle class of the Eastern Conference is crowded. Bickerstaff said. “This was try to get Ty on the floor more without James (Harden) so the ball can be in his hands to make plays and see if we can get him more comfortable”.

The Rockets have played uninspired basketball to open the new NBA season and appears McHale has lost control of the team. Winning will cure all for this team, but there’s simply no guarantee that will happen consistently this season.

The Houston Rockets have fired head coach Kevin McHale after a disappointing start to the season. He was 193-130 overall with the team, including three straight trips to the playoffs. Three of the last four losses have come at home.

Hall of Famer Magic Johnson also posted a pair of strongly worded tweets. In his first season with the Vipers in 2009-10, Finch earned the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year Award while guiding the team to the D-League championship.

Morey: If we turned it around, it would be the right decision.

“At times, I wouldn’t say full effort all the time, no”, McHale said after a blowout loss to Boston in which Houston blew an early 15-point lead.

“I told Kevin that today”. Job One, really, is we’ve got to shore up our defense, and I believe J.B. can do it. I knew I was going to lose to Dallas, and I thought we’d lose the game before that. “He’€™s going to get a chance to get a few rest here, probably jump on TV and have a blast doing that, and then there will be a lot of teams wanting to hire him, because he did a fantastic job in Houston”. Harden’s play and aloofness have frustrated teammates, and McHale took the brunt of the blame for the team’s play.

The Mavericks have employed McHale as a consultant before, bringing him to training camp in 2009 before McHale’s hiring in Houston.
