New Jersey is waking up to some of the thickest fog of the season so far. And not only will it be mild, but abundant sunshine should grace many areas on Thursday as well… A cold front approaching from the west today will bring rain before it dissipates just west of the area Wednesday. From now through Christmas Day, records are expected from Texas, through the Gulf Coast, mid-Atlantic, and even New England. But by late Thursday, a stronger cold front will move through the region, bringing strong winds and snow down to 3,000 feet by Christmas morning.

Right now models show scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday. For now, beyond today, there’s no more truly “steady rain” expected through at least Monday night.
