It was a tough day.

Yates was 6-of-10 passing for 68 yards and one interception before the injury.

He did take some chances getting upfield which resulted in some decent yardage plays for the Colts. “As far as a team, putting ourselves in first place, there’s nothing like it. We’ve been fighting all year for it. A lot of ups and downs, injuries, things like”.

But Houston didn’t let the Colts’ offense get started in the second half. This one got away from us, but Houston played a heck of a game.

Pagano does not know if starting quarterback Andrew Luck will be ready to return and play December 27 at Miami. The Broncos on the other hand are losers of two straight, and now hold just a single game lead over the Chiefs in the West. Denver has a huge game against the Bengals Monday night, and then finish with the San Diego Chargers while Kansas City, who has won eight straight, finishes with the Cleveland Browns and Raiders.

The Colts would drive into Texans territory before stalling out and having to punt. The Colts got a solid group effort in rushing the Texans’ quarterbacks, with Robert Mathis highlighting the performance with a sack-strip of Brandon Weeden in the third quarter. Watt is playing fundamental football in base defense from his normal 3-4 defensive end spot and it has paid off with him eating up blockers. But he left the game with 1:14 to go in the first half after scrambling for a first down, a play that was wiped out because of a holding penalty on left tackle Duane Brown.

The field goal was set up via a Ryan Fitzpatrick 43 yard pass to Kenbrell Thompkins as the quarterback continues to establish himself. The Colts, in contrast, ran 19 times for 50 yards. His only touchdown was a red-zone slant to Donte Moncrief. Houston’s Alfred Blue ran 20 times for 107 yards…. Not totally unrealistic, and given the quarterback situations of the Colts and Texans, it’s clear the division is Jacksonville’s for the taking.

Starter Brian Hoyer missed the Colts game yesterday with a concussion, his second one of the 2015 season.

The Texans finally responded with a 22-yard field goal from Novak on the final play of the half, a 46-yard field goal late in the third quarter and the TD pass from Weeden to Strong early in the fourth to make it 13-10. Houston’s first-half drives began at the Texans’ 20, 11, 20, 7, 20 and 8-yard lines…

I’d rather see that bag of hot air found outside of Lucas Oil Stadium at quarterback than Whitehurst because I truly do not think even J.J. Watt could bring him down. Despite Anthony Castonzo returning from injury at left tackle and Joe Reitz moving back to right tackle, defenders were routinely in Hasselbeck’s face until the seemingly inevitable happened and Hasselbeck was temporarily knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter.
