Watt is playing fundamental football in base defense from his normal 3-4 defensive end spot and it has paid off with him eating up blockers. But he left the game with 1:14 to go in the first half after scrambling for a first down, a play that was wiped out because of a holding penalty on left tackle Duane Brown.

I’d rather see that bag of hot air found outside of Lucas Oil Stadium at quarterback than Whitehurst because I truly do not think even J.J. Watt could bring him down. Despite Anthony Castonzo returning from injury at left tackle and Joe Reitz moving back to right tackle, defenders were routinely in Hasselbeck’s face until the seemingly inevitable happened and Hasselbeck was temporarily knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter.
