Houston Texans: “Hard Knocks” episode two less than four hours out

J.J. Watt is really cool-except for the not-dope cover of Fort Minor’s “Remember the Name”-but nothing beat assistant strength coach Sean Hayes’ insanely spot-on impression of Macho Man Randy Savage”. Watt is the unquestioned star of the Texans, and it’s nearly like the Hard Knocks producers are trying carefully to avoid a Watt overdose.

The charismatic, chatty cornerback loves socks and playing Madden, but there’s more to the second-year cornerback that cameras may not have captured.

The answer, apparently, was a bunch. “Here’s what we’re gonna try, we’re all gonna worry about our own f–g game”.

The episode airs on HBO at 10 p.m. ET and PT. It will re-air several other times if you don’t get a chance to watch.

“Most people don’t go to Brown to be coaches”.

But that wasn’t Anne’s main takeaway from watching the Texans’ coach passionately reaching out to his players on national TV. “I have a story, and I guess they want to share it”. The Brian Hoyer-Ryan Mallett quarterback competition, skimmed over in the first week, was spotlighted in the second half of the newest episode.

Linebacker Brian Cushing and running back Alfred Blue faced each other in a blocking drill, and tensions raised when Blue pushed Cushing after the whistle. “I’ll never forget that”, Bill said. “I did it on objective”.

Blue and Cushing might be teammates, but tensions will continue to raise between these two during one-on-one drills.

He landed on his feet, though, with the New York Giants organization.

Blue responded that he couldn’t talk about that because “I don’t want (O’Brien) cussing me out”. They’ve followed his career from Brown to the Texans. James got heated and gave rookie safety Corey Moore some real talk about making mistakes in the NFL. We need either more Sean Hayes impressions, or the Savage thing has to be a weekly staple.

The most noteworthy part of the season premiere of Hard Knocks was WR DeAndre Hopkins’ verbal sparring with mouthy Redskins CB Deangelo Hall. HBO released a press release for the latest episode, and it appears like it will include some 49ers-Texans action toward the end of the episode.

That sums up Hard Knocks.
