How Brexit sent financial markets plunging
The Brexit vote will change the shape of European and global politics for years to come. A wave of similar calls for independence are expected throughout the United Kingdom and other European Union countries, starting with Northern Ireland and spreading to such places as Denmark that have refused to adopt the euro.

“The United Kingdom and the European Union will remain indispensable partners of the United States even as they begin negotiating their ongoing relationship”, Obama said in a statement.
Obama spoke by phone with Cameron Friday.
Meanwhile, French President Francois Hollande said that Britain’s vote to leave the European Union was a “grave test for Europe” in view of the economic and financial consequences. European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker said the decision would be respected.
I just think a lot of them look at it as a bunch of politicians spouting off. What is going to change their day-to-day lives? The question now is whether political elites will pay more attention to the constituents, instead of their peers – a question that is just as relevant to the U.S.as it is to the United Kingdom and the EU. “You see it with Europe, all over Europe”, Trump, 70, said in Turnberry, Scotland where he reopened a golf course.
Earlier Friday, Trump likened his candidacy to the referendum vote and said should he win the presidency in November, he would work to strengthen ties between the USA and an independent Britain.
“The decision of the British people in the referendum was of great significance”.
Closing those borders will have long-lasting ramifications that we can’t entirely predict until we know the specifics of this deal that’s yet to be hammered out with the EU.
Hollande vowed Saturday to maintain relations with Britain, notably concerning migrants crossing between the two countries and military and economic cooperation.
Speaking in Downing Street yesterday in front of dozens of journalists from around the world, with staff from neighbouring Whitehall departments looking on through gates and fences, Mr Cameron’s voice broke with emotion as he said: “I love this country, and I feel honoured to have served it”. “The people have spoken and we need to implement this decision”.
Those in favor of a British withdrawal from the European Union argued that outside the bloc, London would be better positioned to conduct its own trade negotiations, better able to control immigration, and free from what they believe to be excessive European Union regulations and bureaucracy.
