How Chelsea boss Antonio Conte can play new £34m transfer David Luiz

A French journalist has claimed that David Luiz is a worse player now than when he left Chelsea two years ago after completing a £32m return to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.

In 2014, the Brazilian global departed Stamford Bridge for PSG in a £50 million deal that made him the most expensive defender of all-time.

According to several media outlets, Chelsea have completed the (re) signing of PSG defender David Luiz on Wednesday, the last day of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old rejoined the Blues in a £34m deal to become Antonio Conte’s fifth signing of the summer and is keen to help bring success back to Stamford Bridge. I can not wait to wear the shirt and play at Stamford Bridge again.

Even after signing left back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina for a reported £23 million, Chelsea are struggling on the back line.

David Luiz has said he is not content with his past achievements at Chelsea and is “hungry” to be successful in English football again as he embarks on a second spell at Stamford Bridge.

Luiz said: “I’m delighted to return to Chelsea”.

Luiz, who also played a key role as Chelsea won the 2013 Europa League, originally joined the Blues from Benfica in January 2011. “Our line is well formed, no wonder why Chelsea offered more than €50m for one of our defenders”.

“My family and close friends know Chelsea is the club I have dreamed about playing for”, Alonso added.

“Of course I want to win the Premier League, but of course I want to win all the other titles again”.

The Brazil worldwide won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup in his first spell with Chelsea, but taking the top prize in England evaded his grasp.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s United States defender Matt Miazga has joined Vitesse Arnhem on loan until the end of the season.
