On Thursday night, Trump had said he wanted to “hit” some of the speakers “so hard their heads would spin”. “More than a few times, I’ve had to pick myself up and get back in the game”.
French daily Liberation says Mrs Clinton’s “solid and vigorous” performance positioned herself as a “unifier trying to divert Americans from the alarmist and populist message” of Donald Trump. But Clinton’s public perception has always been that she is not warm and is only a policy wonk. “Americans don’t say ‘I alone will fix it.’ We say ‘we will fix it together'”. Clinton is calling for a $10 billion investment in such manufacturing communities, including helping them transition to science and technology trades. After Trump’s speech, 57% of people reacted very positively.
A Suffolk University poll released in the middle of the Democratic convention gave Clinton a nine-point lead over Trump. Libertarian Gary Johnson stood at 5% and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 3%.
Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, tweeted that Clinton believes that the Ayatollah in Iran is an ally of the U.S. She has never said or indicated such a thing.
