How Many Americans Were Killed in the Nice Terror Attack?

“Today, Lexmark is saddened to learn that our employee and friend, Sean Copeland, and his son, Brodie, were killed in the attack in Nice, France last night”. They were among a flock of people gathered on the seafront for Bastille Day fireworks when an unidentified driver plowed into them with a truck hauling grenades and other weapons, according to Alyssa Weaver, the elder Copeland’s niece. Sean Copeland, age 51, and his son Brodie, age 11, were on vacation when they were killed when a truck rammed into pedestrians and gunshots fired into the crowd of festival-goers.

“They were just a great family, loved baseball and loved being together and doing everything as a family”, Bishop said, according to People.

The two American fatalities from Thursday’s terror attack in Nice, France, were a father and son from this Hill Country enclave who bonded through baseball and were on a family trip through Spain and France.

Sean Copeland and his son Brodie were in the southern French city on a family vacation. They were celebrating Bastille Day in Nice. “Rest in peace, Brodie and Sean, you will be remembered by many”, wrote Paiz.

Brodie played youth baseball and his father coached the team, The Austin Statesman reports. “It’s extremely hard because at the end of the year we say goodbye to them and we are wishing them well and we are looking forward to hearing about their wonderful successes and he was one that I couldn’t wait to hear about”, Serfoss said.

His mother, Kim, posted a black-and-white photo on Facebook in March, portraying a pensive Brodie standing tall on a pitcher’s mound. We are grieving, praying, and sending strength to everyone who lost friends and family and the injured that are still fighting for their lives.

Kim Copeland, along with 29-year-old Maegan and 22-year-old Austin, survived, Davis told The Post.

Aaron Cable, with the Hill Country Baseball Club, said he has worked closely with Brodie over the years and that he was “an overall talented, Renaissance-man kind of kid”.

Other friends and family members have taken to Facebook to express their grief over the sudden and tragic loss of Sean and Brodie. In a photo taken hours before he was killed, waves splash over Brodie’s back on the rocky shore of the French Riviera.

“We’ve been contacting all the entities there”, said the woman, who declined to give her name.

“I know both Sean and Brodie knew and loved Jesus and that is comforting but it still hurts to the core”.

No one else from the group was hurt, the newspaper report said.
