How much does it cost to win an Oscar?
I used to actually enjoy watching the Oscar Awards to see stars I liked and to root on the films I thought were the best in a given year (even if they’d never win the big awards).

For best supporting actress, Eckstein favours Sweden’s Alicia Vikander for her role playing the wife of transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.
Speaking of elusive Oscars, Sylvester Stallone is nominated in Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Creed“, but the category is full of talent. After her first nomination for 1986’s “Aliens”, she lost out to Marlee Matlin, who won for “Children of a Lesser God”.
“The Revenant” tops the Academy Awards list with 12 nominations, including citations for Best Picture and Best Actor. “I think Chris Rock will address the diversity issue head on, which is exactly what the show and the Academy need”. But best picture is still a three-film race: It’s going to come down to “The Revenant”, “Spotlight” or “The Big Short” for the final award of the night. “We gotta get our piece of this art their credit due and award shows like this, programs like BET, they help further our people in this creative landscape of cinema”. The Revenant -which is inspired by the book The Revenant which is also based on the real life of the fur trapper Hugh Glass while he was in South Dakota and Montana- is expected to win for best picture.
Best Actress: Brie Larson has dominated the Awards circuit this season with her astounding performance in the Best Picture nominated Room.
“All these Oscar talks, I don’t even trip about that”, he laughed during a speech at the American Black Film Festival Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday (21Feb16), according to Us Weekly. This could open a door for one of them as well.
Earlier this week, Bing also rolled out its CelebsLike.Me tool to determine which Oscar nominee users most resemble.
Smith’s statements echo a wave of criticism following the nominations, where many have cited that the academy alone is not to blame for Hollywood’s lack of diversity.
Filmmaker Spike Lee said, “My wife and I, Tanya, in all good consciousness, we can not attend the Academy Awards”.

If that’s the case then “The Revenant” will surely win. If you asked me to give you a dark horse in the category, I’d go with George Miller, who directed the visually dazzling “Mad Max: Fury Road”. The Best Original Screenplay Oscar is likely to go to Spotlight, which is a film about two reporters who discover a child molestation cover up with the nearby Catholic Archdiocese that shakes up the entire Catholic church.
