How The Manchester City Could Win the Premier League Title

Jamie Vardy has insisted his Leicester City side won’t have an easy route to the Premier League title despite now enjoying a five-point lead atop of the table. However, it’s contingent on Arsenal doing something it hasn’t done since December – stringing together three wins in a row.

While the nature of the defeat would have obviously been hugely disappointing to Mauricio Pochettino and the fans that travelled to the Westfalenstadion for the game, Spurs arguably have bigger priorities than the competition which appears to have inspired the manager’s team selection.

Vardy revealed after his side’s 1-0 win at Watford that while he had Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Manchester City on in the background, he was quite happy playing on his games console, enjoying a bout of Call of Duty rather than be fixed to results elsewhere.

Leicester City again highlights our EPL fantasy recap.

Thing’s got started with Leicester City drawing with Bournemouth on Tuesday. How would the table look as we go into the crunch last two games? Aguero was docked a point for the missed penalty, but still finished with the best fantasy stat line among Premier League forwards.

Playmaker Riyad Mahrez netted in the 56th minute – his 15th Premier League goal of the season – and the goal turned out to be the victor for the visitors at Vicarage Road. The striker’s future could become an issue at the end of the season as The Times has learnt that the contract contains a clause entitling him to leave if any club matches Leicester’s £30 million valuation.

Meanwhile, the other three teams are probably out of the title race, but are still fighting for that final Champions League spot. The side is also only three points behind Arsenal in third – that’s how close this year is. The good news in this is that Leicester’s mostly against relegation-threatened teams fighting for their existence or teams that are fighting for Champions League position.

But the loss of points last week could prove costly.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen believes the small mistakes added up during their 3-0 loss away to Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League. Only time will tell if Leicester can ring their bells all the way to the Premier League title.

Cue the weekend’s matches, which kicked off with the much-hyped North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal.

What are your thoughts? “The ball was there, the shot at goal was good quality, but we know very well about Mahrez”.
