Catherine insists that she and her brother Caleb were both home all night, and they never left the house. Despite this being a lie, Catherine goes along with the story. They had nothing to lose and everything to gain from her death – a fact that was made all the more evident once Caleb’s DNA was found at the crime scene. Bonnie and Wes then go into Caleb’s interrogation room where Bonnie is able to manipulate him into confirming the truth and admitting his innocence.

Watching Frank put Laurel in her place was incredibly satisfying. And a cute guy makes a date with Michaela in the courthouse – SHOULDN’T THESE KIDS ALL BE MORE SUSPICIOUS OF STRANGERS IN SEASON 2 – and it’s all well and good ’til Wes finds the guy’s face in a group photo of Rebecca’s discarded belongings. He takes one particular picture for a memento, which includes a new character named Levi. She quickly deflects her questioning and creates doubt in the mind of the prosecution that she could be responsible.
