Windows 10 is all the rage right now as Microsoft aims to break some records as it releases its last Windows worldwide.

If at least two different operating systems are installed, your computer displays them in the boot screen, giving you some time to decide which you want to run.
Just FYI, I was upgrading from Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and I used the official installer, found here, so if your circumstances are different you may not have the same success I did. Be very careful when selecting partitions to pick the right one, otherwise you run the risk of overwriting whichever partition holds Mac OS X. Microsoft is now selling the OS on a USB stick as well as on discs – handy if you’re using a recent MacBook which doesn’t have a DVD slot.
Yes, but you need to have Parallels Desktop 10. This is another area where you might run into a problem if you are not ready to upgrade.
To switch back and forth between OS X and Windows 10, you’ll need to restart your Mac.
To give you an idea of where I’m coming from and how easy or otherwise this is, I’m an occasional Mac OS X user and a first-time Boot Camp user. No third-party tools required. This is not a mandatory step but is highly recommended.
Other than a Boot Camp compatible Mac (you can check to see if yours makes the cut here), you will also need a USB flash drive and a Windows 10 ISO file. Boot Camp will prompt you to back up your Mac, which you should have already done.
Already Registered for your upgrade of Windows 10?
Once checked, go to the next step. Look under each Windows Boot Loader header next to the identifier entry. You will also need plenty of storage space, as with using Boot Camp. Tick the following boxes: Create a Windows 7 or later version install disk; and Install Windows 7 or later version.
According to Microsoft moderator Vidyaranjan A V the error code, “is an expected message indicating that when installation begins it may require user interaction”.
Your Mac will now restart and boot into the Windows 10 setup. Select the one labeled as BootCamp.
After the initial scan is done you must then select the option to Clean up system files (1) and then begin the scan again by clicking OK. This way, your computer can devote all of its resources (like its processor and RAM, ) to running only Windows. A big notification window appeared on my screen, letting me know I can finally upgrade to the new OS. The Start menu had been a part of Windows since 1995. This can be helpful in case you want to fasten the updating process to your family members only.
Now you will have Windows 10 on your Mac. As soon as my laptop startup after the Windows 10 upgrade, there was Steam, launching on startup like nothing had happened. Your computer is about to create a bootable drive with Windows on it, then download the drivers you need so you can still use your keyboard, trackpad or mouse.
Virtualization software, like the aforementioned program, allows you to test Windows 10 without installing it directly on your Machine. Windows 10 doesn’t, it’ll upgrade itself and you can’t be selective about what updates are installed. Also, at the time of writing this article, Windows 10 is basically fresh out of Microsoft’s hands, so the drivers Apple has might not work at the highest level.

If it turns out that you don’t like Windows 10, you can roll back to your previous operating system (though keep in mind, as noted above, that current reports say that doing so comes with a bit of cleanup).
