How to Migrate Your Data from iOS to Android Using Google Drive

Earlier this year, Google has launched Gboard as a new app for iOS that lets one search for emojis and GIFs within chat.

In order to demonstrate the simplicity of the transfer from an iOS device to an Android one, Google’s webpage makes use of the iPhone. Apple introduced a similar application “Move to iOS” in 2015. When the user signs into his or her Google account on the Android phone, the content will automatically be synchronized. Google has not even released any official statement yet, which has been the convention for its product and service rollout. The APK teardown has revealed some of the added features. Third-party tools like Twitter and Slack don’t support it yet. At that time, the company promised to bring the same to Android as well shortly. The quick access to Google search from the keyboard is especially handy, letting you search for restaurant hours, an actor’s age, or whatever else, all without leaving whatever app you’re already in. The keyboard had come to the iOS following months of development.

The revamped Switch is yet another prong in Google’s effort to simplify the iOS-to-Android transition process.

We’ve also noticed Gesture typing has been renamed to Glide typing. Moreover, Google Drive should be running and on open on the screen as well. These features are powered by Google’s own image search. You can then perform a Google search for whatever you’d like, and also share those results. The Android keyboard does not have text or picture-based searching. One example of the keyboard in action that Google loved to tout was searching for the address to a restaurant while in the middle of a messaging conversation.

GIF Search: This feature is only available in Hangouts and Google Messenger, and it’s expected that Google will provide an update for this feature to be made available for Gboard on other apps too.
