How To Share Live Videos

The social media giant announced yesterday that it has rolled out a new live video map, in a bid to enable viewers to see broadcasters streaming live videos across the globe. The idea pins up on users’ curiosity and on the need to experience life in a world without boundaries.

To tune in to a stream hover the mouse cursor over it. Facebook displays the stream directly, but you can click on it to open a larger version of it featuring additional options such as a comment form or like buttons.

A clickable screen allows browsers to choose from a live ranking of the most highly rated feeds on a left-hand column or travel the planet by clicking on a random blue dot from others around the world.

Technically speaking, this is not an invention.

The sidebar on the left features a selection of Live videos, though it hasn’t been said how they are picked.

Facebook also recently updated its News Feed so that Facebook Live videos are more likely to appear higher in News Feed when those videos are live. The new feature also offers some insight into the popularity of live streaming, with a heavy concentration of blue dots displayed in south Asia and along the East Coast of the United States as of this morning.

Here’s how you can manage your privacy settings for live video.

If you are not interested in streaming to an audience but are interested in live streams that are now available, then you may find the Live Around the World map useful for that.

To access the interactive map, a new “Live Video” app is available on the left navigation bar in your Facebook timeline. Still, in time users will know for sure how to get the best out of the new feature.
