How to stop Pokemon Go seeing everything in your Google account
Are you a Pokemon GO player living in one of these less populated areas?

While their scheme isn’t quite as Machiavellian as the nefarious plots that were devised by Team Rocket in the show, the creators of Pokemon Go, Niantic Labs, have moved to allay fears that the app will leave its users vulnerable to security and privacy risks.
The risk appears to only affect iOS users who sign into Pokemon Go with their Google credentials.
Pokemon GO has been an absolute blast since its launch last week.
The Pokémon Go app forces game users to physically walk in order to catch Pokémon. Nintendo owns a third of Pokemon Company and both have undisclosed stakes in Niantic.
That’s because the Pokemon GO app gets “full access” to your Google account. “Google will soon reduce Pokémon Go’s permission to only the basic profile data that Pokémon Go needs, and users do not need to take any actions themselves”, it added.
Now here is a catch: Whenever you access an APP with your Google account it gives out a message about the DATA the app is going to be able to access, here is an example of one such message: “This app will be able to view your email address and name”. He now works with as a principal architect at Red Owl Analytics.
“This is probably just the result of epic carelessness”, Reeve wrote in a blog post Monday.
When you grant full account access, the application can see and modify almost all information in your Google account (but it can’t change your password, delete your account, or pay with Google Wallet on your behalf).
Niantic was forced to admit its mistakes on Monday after computer security experts realized that the video game gets a rare level of access to your Google account.
It means Niantic can only read biographical information like email address and phone number.

What does the FULL ACCESS means here? City Elf Go is now topping the App Store most popular apps chart in China and is fairing similarly well on Android, with over 110,000 downloads through Tencent’s Myapp store, which is the top-ranking Chinese Android app platform.
