How to Track Santa!
NORAD, which has been helping eager kids track Santa Claus at Christmastime since the 1950s, is once again letting kids use the Internet to follow Santa’s sleigh ride.

The North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) will make use of their leading satellite technology to run the tracking service for the 60th year running.
If you have an Android device, you can track Santa’s path on the official Google app, which is also compatible with Chromecast for users who want to view the tracker from their TVs.
First lady Michelle Obama will also have some calls forwarded to her on Christmas Eve.
Santa’s pretty sly, so you might notice that different trackers suggest the jolly elf is in separate locations.
NORAD’s Santa Tracker has been operating since 1955, after an advertisement misprinted the telephone number for kids to call Santa.
Hundreds of volunteers will be answering calls and emails from kids around the world wanting the latest info on Santa’s status.
The number was for a crisis phone at Air Operations Center at Continental Air Defense Command, NORAD’s predecessor, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Not wanting to disappoint the young caller, a staff member checked the radar to work out Santa’s exact location for the child. Google’s Santa Tracker, Santatracker.google.com, and TrackingSanta.netare also good ways to track his progress. The apps can be set to eight different languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese.
“The phone started ringing over there, and Col. Harry Shoup was on call that night”, said Chouinard.
Every Christmas Eve for the last 60 years, the tradition continues.
Many may realize that North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) tracks Santa Claus’ movements every Christmas Eve.

Not to be rolled over by the NORAD juggernaut, the Department of Transportation says it has “approved an application submitted by a Mr. Kris Kringle (d/b/a “Santa Claus”) for special air transportation operating authority”.
