Vanessa was even more awe-inspiring on account of how she delivered an inspired performance despite having discovered just a day before that her father, Greg, had died of cancer. Along with John Travolta’s Danny and Olivia Newton John’s Sandy, Stockard Channing’s Rizzo is the version of the character most widely known thanks to the 1978 film version of Grease.

“I told her, ‘Girl, nobody heard that, ‘” Palmer told ET, recalling a conversation the two had.
The studio recording for Grease: Live was also released on January 31, and according to The Wrap, the album is ranked at number five on iTunes, trailing behind Rihanna, Kevin Gates, Adele and Sia.
Sunday night’s production of “Grease: Live” was dedicated to a very special man.
Vanessa Hudgens rocks Rizzo: The former Disney star arguably stole the show as the fierce, yet vulnerable Pink Lady leader.
If you were watching Sunday night, what did you think?
Marc spoke with Variety and praised her, “It was incredibly fearless of her. She’s a professional, but she’s also a human being and a daughter. So sorry for her loss & inspired that she will perform tonight’s @GoGrease in her fathers honor”, Kesse Tyler Ferguson added. Instead of choosing to understandably sit out the performance, Hudgens embraced the “show must go on” mentality and blew the minds of viewers everywhere.
