If Simon does join “America’s Got Talent” he will be reunited with his former fellow “X Factor” judge Mel B – who was axed in favor of Rita Ora earlier this year – who sits on the judging panel alongside Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and the departing Howard Stern. “I really have… It has been phenomenal”, Stern says in the video. The show dedicated a segment to one of the favorite judges of all time, and in a video, he appears to be walking around New York City, looking back on the things he experienced, and sharing what he loved most about his role as a judge. I was in college radio.

To commemorate his time on AGT, the native New Yorker took to the streets of the city, interacting with tourists, locals, cops, and cab drivers, many of whom expressed that they would be “sad to see [Stern] go”.

A fellow comedian, Drew Lynch, was runner-up.

Stern announced he was leaving “America’s Got Talent” in June as he’d been offered an exciting new opportunity in TV.

“I felt really fortunate that I could be the guy responsible for bringing the show to New York”, he said. “I’m like ‘Oh, my God!’ It’s kind of amusing to me because this never happened to me in my career”. “I’m just too f-ing busy”. “I guess it is like the performer’s ultimate dream to be able to headline your own show in Las Vegas, and I’m so lucky and I’m so grateful to the American people for giving me this chance”.

Aside from saying goodbye to Howard Stern, America’s Got Talent also crowned this season’s victor , ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, making him the second ventriloquist to ever to win the competition.
