Howe, 38, is regarded as one of the finest young managers around after masterminding Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League as well as leading them to safety last season.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has said that his side must try to take the positives from their 4-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

Bournemouth were hammered 4-0 by Pep Guardiola’s men and have dropped to 17th place in the Premier League table, just one point clear of the drop zone.

Howe said: “We learnt a lot from the City game”.

Bournemouth face Everton at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday and the Cherries’ boss is hoping the determination shown by his side last season in a 3-3 thriller at home is going to spur his side onto victory on Saturday after a poor run of form.

Even so, the Cherries boss believes Gradel could still be the final piece to his team once fully fit, saying: “He could be a huge player for us if we can get him back to his very best”.

“Until the first City goal we were okay. The first three goals came from us having the ball, so that’s something to look at”. “Those things kept us up last season”.

Eddie Howe has a “couple of injury issues” ahead of Bournemouth’s game against Everton but has not named the players concerned.

“We try and prepare well for every game we play and we can not reflect on the fact we lost 4-0”.
