HP Chromebook 13 Rocks Skylake Power, QHD+ Display And Brushed Aluminum Chassis
HP and Google’s Chromebook developers have revealed the new chrome Chromebook 13 today as fans are amazed with the specs and, as always with Chromebooks, the price. It comes with respectable specifications packaged in an all-metal body which lends a premium look and feel to the Chromebook.

Google’s Chromebook laptop series will finally live up to it’s “Chrome” name given its new shiny appearance in collaboration with software company, Hewlett Packard.
Your eyes will also be pulled towards the high-resolution QHD+ (3,200 x 1,800), 13-inch IPS display. That price earns you a 1.5GHz Intel Core M configuration with 4GB RAM, a 1080p display.
Unlike the MacBook however, HP’s laptop has more than just a single USB-C port. In fact it has two USB-C ports, a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack and a microSD card reader. It measures just over half an inch thick (12.9mm) and weighs 2.86 pounds.
HP is also offering a few accessories, among which the USB-C docking setup may be the most interesting, as it will allow you to hook the Chromebook into multiple (up to three) displays using DisplayLink (available starting Chrome OS 51), in addition to external keyboards, mouses and other peripherals.
When coupled with 8GB or 16GB of memory, the HP Chromebook 13 should handle Chrome OS like a champion. HP says you can even charge the Chromebook 13 with a USB-C phone charger, so you won’t even have to bring a tangled mess of charging cables with you everywhere you go. It’s $500. That’s fantastically priced when you consider all the hardware this guy is rocking-all that power to run a souped-up version of a PC browser.
While it’s more expensive than other starter laptops from such competitors as Acer and Lenovo, HP and Google are hoping its advanced features, such as multi-layered security, including automatic updates, sandboxing, verified boot, data encryption and recovery, will be enticing enough to make up for its higher price.
