The first sitting GOP lawmaker to publicly state his intent to vote for Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stands steadfast in the fallout.

“It is clear to me that Secretary Clinton’s temperament, global experience and commitment to America’s bedrock national values make her the far better choice in 2016 for President of the United States”, she wrote in the post.
Mr Trump has rattled many Republicans with his moves in recent days, including escalating his feud with the family of a Muslim-American soldier killed in Iraq.
Whitman told the Times that Trump is a “dishonest demagogue” and that electing him to the White House would lead the United States “on a very unsafe journey”.
“Donald Trump has been a demagogue this whole time, preying on people’s anxieties with loose information and salacious rhetoric, drumming up fear and hatred of the ‘other, ‘ ” Comella said.
At the time, she also made a pledge not to back Trump should he emerge from the primaries victorious.
The GOP nominee took aim at his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, suggesting that ISIS give her “an award” because she was “the founder of ISIS”. Hanna has held his seat in NY, where Clinton served as senator, since 2013 and plans to retire when his current term is over.
She reportedly in June compared Trump to dictators Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. But her eye is on the spectacle surrounding Donald Trump and winning over skeptical Republican voters.
The poll comes with good and bad news for Clinton: More Clinton supporters say they have a positive view of their vote for her.
The statement that she will not only oppose Trump, but actively work to elect Clinton shows how deep-seated Whitman’s dislike of the Republican nominee has grown.

Michael Bloomberg, a former New York City mayor and Doug Elmets, a Republican who served in former President Ronald Reagan’s administration, are both pro-Clinton.
