The 7.1 version has been confirmed as the MR1 release of Nougat. This would be the first maintenance release for the new OS (the Maintenance Release 1 or MR1). Nathan Benis stated that this announcement led him to conclude that the new Nexus devices would be launched along with the MR1, at about a time similar to the launch a year ago.

The new Nexus devices are expected to come in the late part of September. Both devices will be debuting in October and the will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It was previously leaked that Marlin and Sailfish would come with new launchers.

Currently, update facility has been started for general subscribers by Google but it is only for nexus device users. Google unveiled its 2015 smartphone lineup, the Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P, the new Chromecast and new Android 6.0 Marshmallow software features. While Google has gotten better at delivering a compelling experience on its mobile OS, it’s hard to say the same about its attempts at rolling out flagship phones.

It’s likely that BlackBerry has not received the update from Android to work on, and that probably is the reason why there has been no official word from the Canadian handset manufacturer. All in nougat is harnessed with more user-friendly newness. Meanwhile, LG G5, LG V10, LG G4, and LG V20, as well as HTC 10, HTC One A9, and HTC One M9, are also set to be equipped with Android Nougat.
