This is clearly a different device, because HTC already confirmed on its website that the new flagship smartphone will be called HTC 10, as @evleaks has speculated.

The HTC 10 is no doubt one of the most anticipated smartphones in the market and the excitement about the specifications is building day by day.

The event will take place on 12 April at 1 pm (UK time). HTC itself has been putting out some information on Twitter, trying to generate buzz around the phone. If possible, we will embed the actual video on this page.

Four more wallpapers have been leaked by LlabTooFeR claiming that they are from the upcoming HTC 10 smartphone and HTC Sense 8.0. Re-engineered HTC BoomSound™ Hi-Fi edition speakers feature the same separated tweeter and woofer design as leading acoustic systems and combine with a dedicated amplifier on each speaker, adding to the experience and delivering sound clarity unprecedented on a smartphone. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. On offer with the HTC 10 is a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 display which makes use of a 2560 x 1600 resolution.

It is also important that we got the build absolutely right. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner positioned under the Home button, as well as a USB Type-C port for blazing fast data speeds. The HTC 10 is long-rumoured to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front snapper. It’s a 12MP ultrapixel layout on the back, complete with dual LED flash and laser autofocus, while the front has a 5MP sensor. The 10 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery, which will reportedly last for up to 2 days due to optimizations on the phone. It will be powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC that will be supported by 4 GB of RAM.
