HTC Bolt may follow Apple’s lead and drop headphone jack
Taiwan-based smartphone brand HTC Corp. Seeing the October 18 date on the render’s home screen, we might speculate that the device will either be announced or released on that date. Blass tweeted an apparent press photo of the device on Wednesday, showing a phone that looks largely similar to the HTC 10 flagship the Taiwanese manufacturer launched earlier this year. But even with a lot of consumers up in arms over the move, it would seem that another tech company is planning to do the same and eschew the feature entirely with its new device – the HTC Bolt. The soon-to-be released smartphone is called the HTC Bolt and is slated for a US release date sometime in the near future. Secondly, the flash placement on the HTC Bolt and HTC 10 differ. It’s been suggested that the Bolt might not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, as there isn’t one clearly visible in the image, but that’s strictly speculation at this point.

Market analysts said that the efforts to launch the new models are expected to boost HTC’s shipments in the second half of the year. In August alone, its sales stood at NT$6.58 billion, up 4.1 percent from a month earlier.
