Either way, neither of the two devices are worthy of comparison to the HTC One M8, particularly the Google Play Edition.

In each case, a smaller update is said to be required in order to prepare the devices for the full upgrade to Android 6.0.

One of our loyal readers passed along to us a screenshot today revealing that his HTC Desire EYE was being updated to Android 6.0.1 with Sense 7.0 in the UAE. Live updates are now happening in Italy and Taiwan which can be expected to hit units in the United States, India and the United Kingdom in the following days. The Desire EYE is confirmed to get an Android 6.0.1 update as well. With the rollout now in progress globally, the AT&T Desire EYE should get the same treatment soon enough. It has taken HTC more than a month to release the OS since announcing that it will be receiving the update.

The latest update should notably improve performance, stability, battery life and overall experience. When your terminal becomes eligible to receive the update you should be able to notice a message in the notifications area.

It isn’t known when this update will reach the three HTC handsets from the U.S., but if you’ve bought your phone from a carrier, with a contract, then you’ll receive Marshmallow much later, because usually, the first devices that are being upgraded are the unlocked versions. Version 7.0 brings new customization tweaks, new themes as well as a look that is simpler than before.

The HTC Desire EYE is considered one of the best HTC smartphones now available on the market, offering solid specs and features for its price point.

Recommendations, apps permissions, direct share, additional mobile payment systems like Google Pay, Visa, Discovery and Master Card, and supports for Android Pay and fingerprint scanner, have also been added to the system.
