HTC Executive Says That Apple Copied The Design Of Its One A9
You’d think that HTC would want to stay out of Apple’s legal crosshairs, but HTC North Asia President Jack Tong is stirring things up by accusing Cupertino of stealing its ideas. He claimed that the Taiwan-based company has been manufacturing unibody metal-clad smartphones since 2013, and that Apple copied his company’s antenna design. Of course we doubt it will be an exact copy of the HTC One A9, but it will probably be pretty close and share a few design traits and features.

Lastly, the HTC One A9 will run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
The phone he is referring to is the HTC One M7, which uses bands at the top and bottom of the metal body for antenna function. As for the flat back of the device, it is something new for HTC since the previous One models all featured curved backs to make way for added internal components, plus it provides a more comfortable hand grip. We said “it’s the phone HTC should have launched in March when the Galaxy S6 debuted”, in our hands-on review, indicating how impressed we are, and the importance it plays in HTC’s future.
The phone maker is pinning its hopes on the A9 to rival Apple’s finest. Focusing on the premium phone market could probably help but more mobile users now are choosing more mid-range phones simply due to their value for money.
A screengrab from a video report on the hands-on experience with the HTC One A9.
Coming to the camera of the smartphone, It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with sapphire cover lens and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front-facing fixed-focus camera. A picture is worth a thousand words and just look at the photo above – both of those sleek smartphones were designed by Apple, but only one of them was actually made by Apple.

Ever since we first saw renders of the One A9 leak to the web, we all took notice of its similarity to the iPhone 6 (and the iPhone 6s). However, the company’s senior executive strongly defends that it isn’t HTC which has copied the design and in fact, it is Apple who borrows the idea from the Taiwanese company. But those preordering directly from HTC can get a limited time discounted price of $399.99. The source has stated that the One A9 will come with a 5-inch AMOLED screen that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 with a display resolution of Full HD or commonly known as 1080p.
