HTC is bringing its Vive VR headset to retail locations
It’s awkward phrasing, but essentially seems to mean that because credit card orders place a hold on payment until purchases are actually shipped (this would be the case for most online retailers, not just for the case of HTC Vive), and PayPal transfers funds immediately, the latter “jumps the queue” nearly. Finally, HTC has acknowledged that there is some inconsistencies between what the HTC Care team tells people and what the HTC Vive channels are saying, so that will be fixed up soon too in order to ensure better customer service all around.

Industry experts said that even as Oculus and Vive have been officially launched by their makers but the devices have not reached homes of those who have ordered them. For virtual reality aficionados curious about shipments of the Vive and other questions surrounding the availability of HTC’s headset, you can check out the official shipment updates page. Unbeknownst to the casual user, though, is the fact that the headset is capable of functions that can benefit a company such as BMW in the form of more flexibility and efficiency, as well as lower costs.
Both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive have launched for consumers, and you can read IGN’s review of both the Rift and the Vive through these links. Facebook’s Oculus sells the Rift headset for $599, or $1,500 when the system is bundled with a computer. The two most important features are the motion-tracking base stations and special controllers.
While this is a major win for the HTC Vive in the new VR battle, BMW isn’t quite ready to put a ring on it yet and treats it as an open relationship. Basic specs are an Intel Core i7 processor and dual NVIDIA Titan X GPUs. This kind of interaction feels much more natural for virtual reality than the game controller included with the Rift. Recent advances in the virtual reality field have quickly outpaced the VR systems that automakers have traditionally used, and BMW is first in line to embrace the technology.
