There are also speculations suggesting that HTC, which Google tapped to manufacture the upcoming Nexus smartphone, will design the Marlin and Sailfish similar to its Desire line. The device manufactured by Huawei will be an upgraded version of current Nexus 6P. The Google Nexus Marlin will be the successor of the powerful Nexus 6P and the Google Nexus Sailfish will be the successor to the economical Nexus 5X. It’s unclear if Google intends for the Nexus Launcher to be exclusive to Nexus devices, or if this will be something Google rolls out to the App Store later this year. These buttons will reportedly be solid white, and the Home button could have red, blue, green, and yellow touches around it that may animate when long-pressed to launch Google Now on Tap.

Since virtual reality is set to take over the smartphone industry, the next generation Nexus devices will be compatible with the upcoming Google Daydream headset. Even their build materials would be largely dissimilar; Marlin would apparently be fully aluminum while Sailfish would have a lot more plastic parts.
Furthermore, Gottabemobile reported that there will be two new Google smartphones: one with a 5-inch screen and the other with a 5.5-inch display.
OS Platform: All the Nexus devices obviously will feature only the latest version of Android.
As of this time, there is still no official announcement regarding the launch date of the Nexus 2016 smartphones. The handset is rumored to come with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM), up to 128GB internal storage, a 12-megapixel main camera enabled with LED flash, an 8-megapixel front facing camera, USB Type-C port and a fingerprint reader.
While still unofficial, I’m a big fan of this redesigned Nexus Launcher.
