Tech enthusiasts expected the HTC One A9 to debut on September 29, but it did not happen, said Android Authority.

Many are likening the design of the HTC One A9 to the iPhone 6, and indeed there appears to be more than a passing similarity. The front-facing BoomSound speakers which had pleased many, are not seen, but just little speaker holes at the lower edge.

We’re not expecting the HTC One A9 to be an overall beast, but it should turn out to be a solid mid-range handset that anyone with a reduced budget would be happy to own. But certainly the new smartphone shows us that HTC has been inspired to change its priorities from sound equipment to a better image.

Roomers suggest that performance of the smartphone will be in the upper-mid range, with a competitive price to match.

HTC has a scheduled press event for October 20 where the device maker is expected to unveil its newest smartphone.
