HTC One M8 GPE receives Android 6.0 Marshmallow update
According to PC Mag, Android 6.0 Marshmallow first rolled out to Google’s Nexus devices, including Nexus Player, Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9 on October 5. Similar to Apple where the iOS will run only on its own Ax chipset, Google now has been planning to keep Android running on their own chips. No Android M software update status with regard to other Lenovo-branded smartphones is known at this point in time. We remind you that this device was released with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and it was expected to be updated to the latest Android OS version.

Despite the current numbers, tech enthusiasts believe that smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy series, will start updating to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon and the numbers will significantly jump to 20 percent.
In simple words, both are mobile operating systems but the adoption rate shows how they differ in application. These designs will enable new features, which Google hopes to “implement within Android software in the next few years”. While Google is pushing the update to Nexus devices, companies like Samsung and HTC are still customizing the OS. With Android so badly fragmented, Google approaching microchip producers is not shocking.
The bigger image right here is who will construct the chip that Google recommends?
Google is reportedly working on its own chipsets, which will be designed for Android smartphones. If Google chooses Samsung as its companion, what can be the destiny of Qualcomm which nonetheless powers most flagships together with Google’s own Nexus line-up.
With iOS 9 and new iPhones, Apple claims it is seeing a large number of Android flagship users switching to their platform.

Now the report indicates that Google wants to put an end to the whole fragmented experience of the Android ecosystem by focussing on its own chip.
